CELEBRATING WITH A WOMAN THAT INSPIRES US THIS MOTHER’S DAY - SARA STOCKER
This Mother’s Day, INXHALE want to reflect on the inspiring, multifaceted, powerful mother figures that surround us in our daily lives. We’re pleased to introduce a friend of INXHALE, Sara Stocker.
Described by friends as hard working, family orientated, in tune with the outdoors, and a powerhouse within the wine industry, Sara is a mother to Harry and Poppy and a wife to Regan.
Today, Sara manages and co-owns Allan Scott Family Winemakers. To celebrate Mother’s Day, we asked her a few questions about motherhood, wellness, and life.
How has becoming a mother changed/impacted the way you perceive wellness and self-care?
Since becoming a mother my focus moved to being a positive role model for my kids.
What piece of advice has been given to you, that you would like to pass on?
I have done a lot of personal development over the years, and on one course we got to visit a very successful shoe marketing company. While there, we were told about the only policy they have - a "no dickhead" policy. Don’t work with them, don’t employ them and don’t be one....Something that always sticks with me and can relate to so many situations.
What makes you most proud as a mother?
Oh way too many to put into one answer but seeing my kids achieve goals they set for themselves. Watching them learn from failures and being able to get back up and try again is really special too.
How do you navigate your work/life/family balance –– how do they feed each other?
I have a quote that sits on my office wall that says "It’s all about finding the calm in the chaos".
Do you find having a meaningful wellness ritual helps you be a better parent?
Yes for sure. I love the outdoors and adventures, and love taking my kids with me now that they are older. I also have my INXHALE Alert inhaler with me in case I can’t keep up with the kids and need a quick hurry up!
What is the environment you want to create, or have created, for your children?
I strive to create a place where they can be themselves, know they are loved and know that they will always have us there as their biggest cheerleaders and supporters, no matter what they are doing or want to do.
Are there people around you who are also mother’s who’ve inspired you?
I am surrounded by these people every day at school pick up! Everyone one of these mothers are all inspiring in their own way.
